Public Meeting to Discuss Fireworks September 18th 2017 at 6:30pm

The State of Iowa recently changed the state code on the sell and use of fireworks.  Currently the City of Atkins bans the use of fireworks.  The city is in the process of updating the city ordinance for fireworks to stay in compliance with state code.  The city can still control the use of fireworks under the new code.  The City can still ban the use all together or we can allow use of fireworks (with in state code).

We know that people have many different opinions about the use of fireworks in the city limits.  We would like to hear your opinion!!  Everyone is welcome to attend a council meeting on September 18th at Atkins City Hall at 6:30pm.
