We welcome everyone to come to the annual Atkins Halloween Party at the Legion Hall!  Free refreshments popcorn, cookies, bars and punch.  Your donation of cookies and bars is greatly appreciated.  Please drop them off at the Legion Hall an time after 2:00pm.

Atkins Women’s Club Annual Soup Dinner

October 27th, 2019 4:00pm to 6:30pm

Atkins Legion Hall ( Downstairs).  We will be serving homemade chicken noodle, chili and creamy potato soups.  Also assorted salads, breadsticks and an assortment of bars and desserts.  The cost will be $6.50 for adults, $3.50 for 5-12 and 4 and under is free.  We will have containers and takeout orders will be welcome if you wish.  This year we are coordination with the ACC and their Annual Halloween party.  The Public is welcome as are the attendees of the Halloween party.

It is Election Season again.  The City of Atkins will be having 2 City Council Vacancies.

If you are interested in running for City Council you can call City Hall for more information.

The Nomination Petition is due back to City of Atkins City Hall by 5:00 pm on September 19th.

The petition must have a minimum of 10 valid signatures.

The Election will take place on November 5th, 2019.

Crafter’s Connection is back!!!

Yes, it’s that time again! CRAFTER’S CONNECTION will once again be back with a great show of arts and crafts offered by some of Eastern Iowa’s best crafters. You will find a variety of handmade items from some very talented people. Make a day of it shopping for Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions or just because. Enjoy a great lunch provided by the American Legion Auxiliary. I am also looking for new vendors to display their handmade crafts. Please contact me as soon as possible to secure your booth. You are welcome to be our guest on July 6 & 7, 2019 to come and celebrate 150 years of Built on the Rock at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, 303 3^rd Avenue, Atkins.

Saturday, July 6^th you are invited to attend worship service at 7:00 pm followed by an ice cream social. Pastor Stohlmann will be our guest pastor for the Saturday evening service. On Sunday, July 7^th you are invited to attend worship service at 10:00 am with Pastor Robert Hedtke as our guest pastor.

Church cookbooks are available for purchase for $15. Please contact the church if you are interested.

The Atkins Community Club will be hosting the 2019 Watermelon Days.  Save the dates of Friday, August 2nd and Saturday, August 3rd.  We would truly appreciate your help on Saturday with some of the games. One hour of your time would make a world of difference for us.
